hope from afar

though darkness may blanket the night
it paints a velvet canvas for the stars.
no matter how distant the light seems,
we deserve to feel hope from afar.

closing our doors has now invited
a slower pace and a warmer home.
creating constellations of hope,
we know we are never alone.

the night has never seemed longer
and being apart doesn’t feel right.
but we can glimmer from a distance
and be our own tapestry of light.
