a monthly poetry blog

Poetry

Wonderfully weird and entirely visceral, poetry is my passion. I write as often as I can (usually monthly), taking local classes and honing my craft.

underneath

hi again, it's me
the deep down wishing to be seen
the fears of loving full and lost
the questions percolating dreams

i'm what pulls
what stalls, what causes pause
what wonders wild and wide
what snatches with claws

if you're wondering
i'm still here, tickling your throat
with every cough
i still anchor below your boat

i'm vipers twisting in a pit
lashing up your stomach
whipping poison thoughts
that paralyze your limbs

you can cover me
but i still rumble far inside
don't ignore me
or push me to the wayside

reach down, pull me out
look me straight in the eye
acknowledge that i'm here
to flip the switch awry
