a monthly poetry blog

Poetry

Wonderfully weird and entirely visceral, poetry is my passion. I write as often as I can (usually monthly), taking local classes and honing my craft.

daybreak

daybreak filters
through the fog
washing the sky
in watercolour
pinks and purples
of possibility
ripple the edges
of reality
this is why
eyes were made to see
this is why
a jarring alarm
jolts me
from misty dreams
the clouds will only wisp
that way once
could i grab them
and bottle them up
drink the gossamer
when i need it next
but they stay
ever on the horizon
in sight
but out of grasp
i know the clouds
will part one day
dissolve to reveal
the same stark sky
each second that passes
brings me closer
to that bitter moment
count one two three
and the edges
begin to fade
i’m not ready
bring it back
but it’s gone
