a monthly poetry blog

Poetry

Wonderfully weird and entirely visceral, poetry is my passion. I write as often as I can (usually monthly), taking local classes and honing my craft.

humanity

I wonder what it's like
To lie there at night
Tracing the ceiling stucco with tired eyes
Finding the stars and the signs
A pattern only the mind knows
Somewhere I can never go
A street, a city, an ocean away
I wish I knew the landscape of the day
I feel it woven within every word
But the worlds inside look blurred
I feel it in the common steps we take
But I only know the way my veins ache
I know the words to all the songs
But the melody comes out jumbled and wrong
When I take the leap to share what's true
I hope it uncovers what's inside too
